Costume Contests from 1840-1917

Buffalo Bill costume/presenter contests

(All of you Buffalo Bill Presenters, it's wide open this year,

Last years winner, Ralph Melfi is now the M.C.)

1st prize Buffalo Bill presenter/costume  $161.00 plus other prizes 

As well as many categories from 1840-1917

$5,000.00 plus in prizes

 JUDGES:  This year there are 5 judges: 

Barbara Melfi, John Voehl, Pamela Voehl, Mike Guli, and Sharon Guli. 

All have experience in history, costuming, or character presentation.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS (approximate times)

Noon                                            Doors open, mingle and greet old friends, grab a bite to eat.
                                                     Vendor booths in lobby throughout event

1:00 PM                                       Greetings by Master of Ceremonies  - Ralph Melfi
                                                     Costume contest entrants to walk through room

    Old Western movies                Trivia Contests for prizes                 Visit old friends

                                 Drawings for door prizes all afternoon

                                                             Candid attendee photos by Jim Smith, Remax Alliance

2:30 PM - 3:15 PM                   Panoramic photo outside Buffalo Rose on Washington Ave.

3:30 PM - 4:00 PM                      Costume contestants promenade through hall and balloting

4:15 PM - 6:30 PM                      Presentation/costume contest                

7:00 pm - 8:00 PM                      Announcement of winners of costume & presentation/costume contests

Presentation / Costume Contests  (Prizes for combined costume & presentation)

Re-enactors have to present a two (2) minute  (maximum) monologue ( first person) of their character.

Judging to be based on contestants knowledge of their character and on the authenticity of their costume

Costume Contest Only  (Prizes for best Costume, Men & Women)

Costumes judged by popular vote of all attendees
