BUFFALO BILL'S BIRTHDAY BASH

The BUFFALO BILL'S BIRTHDAY BASH was held for the first time in Golden on February 25, 2006; however it is not a new event as it has been held in downtown Denver for a number of years before moving to Golden in 2006.

This gathering of re-enactors and history buffs is to commemorate the birthday of William F. Cody aka BUFFALO BILL.

Two separate contests were held, one for costume and the other on first-person presentations of characters within the 1840 through 1917 time frame. The judging categories (for both male and female) were political figure, Native American , Old West figure, military figure, Victorian figure, Madams/Dance hall girls and Dandy Dans, and Fur Trapper/Mountain Man. There was also a children's costume contest.

A great time was had by all and one of the high-lights of this event was the group photo taken outside of the Buffalo Rose. If you are in Golden, be sure to stop in at the Buffalo Rose to see the panoramic photo of some of the re-enactors who were in attendance that day.

Everyone was VERY enthusiastic about the new venue for this party and look forward with anticipation to the 2007 gathering which is scheduled for FEBRUARY 24, 2007 at the BUFFALO ROSE EVENTS CENTER in downtown GOLDEN, COLORADO.
