2008 Parade Information

Parade Entrants:

Plans are underway for the 2008 BUFFALO BILL DAYS CELEBRATION which is Golden’s Premiere Family Event.  The Parade Committee intends to continue the tradition of staging an OUTSTANDING parade and we hope YOU can join us!!  Again this year, it is necessary that we retain a limit on the number of entries allowed; however, we will strive to have a parade that is interesting and fun to watch.  Therefore, we will continue with the changes previously made; namely:

1.  We  will no longer accept political entries.
2.  There will be no individual car/truck/tractor entries unless vehicle is decorated or unless (1) car/truck/tractor is pulling a decorated trailer/float. (2) car is part of a car club; car clubs must limit number of vehicles to not more than 15 vehicles. (3) car/truck/tractor is unique in one way or another (please provide picture of vehicle). 
4.  We may have to limit other categories depending upon the number of entries we get in specific categories.  Additionally, we reserve the right to not accept a parade application that we feel will not be an interesting entry for the parade and the right to cut off accepting further parade entries when we feel that the parade has reached its capacity. 

Therefore, we urge applicants to return the entry form IMMEDIATELY in order to ensure YOUR place in the parade.  Lineup information will be sent to you about 10-14 days before the parade, notifying you of your entry’s place in the lineup and where you are to congregate at the staging area.

Please provide a complete description on the entry form (use reverse side of application if necessary or attach a picture) pertaining to the type of unit you will have and the approximate length (if using vehicles) or numbers of people so that enough staging area will be provided for your unit.  Also please note whether or not you will have music in your unit and provide information if you are including horses or other animals in your unit. We reserve the right to ask for more information about your entry.  You may enclose a brief information sheet about your organization for announcing at the reviewing stand.

FOR SAFETY REASONS horses and other animals will be staged away from other entries

PARADE STARTS: 10:00 a.m.
STAGING STARTS:           7:30 a.m. – equestrian units will move into holding area                                               on Arapahoe at 9:30 am.
LOCATION:             Golden, CO
There were some problems last year in the staging area and exit area.  I am trying to work out these issues with the City of Golden.  I will keep entrants advised.
